Tiered Link Building

How to build Tier 2 backlinks without losing track of the graph

Tier 2 campaigns become messy when operators optimize for volume before defining which Tier 1 properties actually deserve support.

Choose Tier 1 properties deliberately

A Tier 2 campaign should have a clear destination set. If the Tier 1 pages are weak, disposable or irrelevant, adding more links to them does not fix the foundation.

Diversify sources naturally

Avoid turning every intermediate property into the endpoint of the same automated footprint. Different sources, natural anchors and reasonable pacing make the graph easier to inspect and less mechanically repetitive.

Track the relationships

Store source URL → destination URL → anchor → date → status. Without that graph, tiered campaigns become impossible to debug.

Do not confuse distance with safety

Google’s policies do not create a safe harbor for links simply because they point to an intermediate page rather than the main domain.
